The Eau Noire is a river that runs in the French department of Haute-Savoie and the canton of Valais , Switzerland .

The river has its source in the Aiguilles-Rouges massif, near the Col de l'Encrenaz , in the municipality of Vallorcine , France. It crosses the Swiss border between the city of Vallorcine and Le Châtelard . Finally, after about 13 kilometers, the river flows into the Trento as a left tributary at Finhaut .
