Phönix-Alemannia played the association games in the southern district league and from 1919 in the new Phönix stadium in the wildlife park. The successful times of Phoenix were over. National team

On April 4, 1909, the goalkeeper from Strasbourg came to Karlsruhe for his only international match in the senior national team . On the KFV-Platz at the Telegrafenkaserne he remained the first German goalkeeper without conceding a goal, since the selection of Switzerland was defeated 1-0 by the goal of Eugen Kipp in the 25th minute; he was also the first goalkeeper to win with the national team. The DFB held a two-country match day: a selection with players from southern Germany played against Switzerland in Karlsruhe and a selection with players from Berlin, North and Central Germany played against Hungary in Budapest. In Budapest, Adolf Werner from Kiel was in goal, Camillo Ugi organized the build -up game and center forward Willy Worpitzky scored two goals in a 3-3 draw.

In Karlsruhe, the German team was far superior in the field. Josef Glaser and Arthur Hiller set the game and Illmer was able to keep the zero.
