Eckart Hien
Eckart Hien (born May 13, 1942 in Munich ) is a German lawyer . Until May 31, 2007 he was President of the Federal Administrative Court .
Hien's father was Hans Hien . After completing his law studies in 1970, Hien initially worked for the Ebersberg district office , the government of Upper Bavaria and the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior , most recently as a government director . In 1980 he was appointed judge at the Bavarian Administrative Court. At the Federal Administrative Court, Hien worked as a judge from 1986, from 1999 as presiding judge, from 2000 as vice-president and from October 1, 2002 as president.
In October 2006, Hien was from the law faculty of the University of Leipzig , the honorary doctorate awarded. The reason for the award was his scientific achievements in commenting on and discussing federal and state law and his services to the home of the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig and the opening of the court to scientific and cultural events.
Upon reaching the age limit, Hien retired as President of the Federal Administrative Court on May 31, 2007. Marion Eckertz-Höfer was his successor .
