history

From the beginning to the 20th century, the history of Eckendorf was closely linked to the history of Höflarn. At the beginning of the 16th century, Eckendorf is first mentioned as the free property of Conrad von Knöringen. Eckendorf acquired von Knöringen on the Gant (= compulsory auction). It was described in the tax descriptions in 1630 as a country estate with two farms and two estates in Eckendorf, as well as the associated Kumpfmühle and an estate in Mitteraich. In 1630 Eckendorf had six resident subjects , a shepherd and a herd of 16 oxen, 15 cows, 11 cattle, 7 calves, 7 pigs and 13 newborns. It was an independent country mess with its own jurisdiction since 1579 . In 1676 the tenant Hans Leonhard Zeller bought Eckendorf. After his death Wilhelm and Hans Georg Haller von Hallerstein were owners of Eckendorf until 1725. They were followed by Johann Andrä Kammerpauer, who was also the owner of Höflarn. In 1813, Baroness Gertrud Clementine von Morgen owned Eckendorf. This led tough but unsuccessful battles for the preservation of the local court. After her death in 1828, her universal heiress, the widow Eichwedl from Jena, renounced the jurisdiction and the subjects of Eckendorf went to the state.

At the end of the 18th century, Eckendorf had 8 properties, a manorial castle, a shepherd's house and 8 manorial subjects. In 1811, Eckendorf was listed as belonging to the tax district Girnitz and the chairmanship of Diendorf. In 1828 Eckendorf with 8 residential buildings, 11 families and 59 inhabitants belonged to the rural community of Diendorf, to the branch church in Perschen and to the Catholic school in Perschen. All residents were Catholic.

On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Eckendorf belonged to the Perschen branch church and thus to the parish of Nabburg. It had 9 houses and 68 residents. In 1964 Eckendorf had 9 residential buildings and 49 inhabitants and belonged to the rural community of Diendorf and the district of Nabburg . On July 1, 1972, the district of Nabburg was dissolved and Eckendorf became part of the community of Diendorf in the newly formed district of Schwandorf. On January 1, 1975, Eckendorf was incorporated into the town of Nabburg as part of the community of Diendorf. On December 31, 1990 Eckendorf had 54 residents and belonged to the parish of Nabburg.
