Eckhard Bolenz

Eckhard Bolenz (born August 14, 1955 in Bückeburg ) is a German historian and museologist .

Working life

From 1976 to 1983 he studied history and sociology at Bielefeld University . After completing his doctorate , he worked as a research assistant at the Berlin Science Center for Social Research , the popular science museum Cité des sciences et de l'industrie in Paris and most recently at the Chair for Economic and Technical History at the Ruhr University in Bochum . In 1992 he became the museum director of the Cromford textile factory in Ratingen, which is currently being set up as the venue for the LVR industrial museum . The building ensemble of the museum is considered to be the first factory on the European continent . Since 2002 Bolenz has been deputy director and since 2005 provisional director of the LVR industrial museum in Oberhausen . Since 2007 he has headed the LVR Institute for Regional Studies and Regional History in Bonn .

Exhibitions

In 1997, he made a special exhibition under the title Fadenwerk - Web, Structure, Installation at the Cromford Industrial Museum in Ratingen, which went beyond normal thread production and thus attracted attention.
