Eddi Reader

Eddi Reader (* 28. August 1959 in Glasgow as Sadenia Reader ) is a Scottish singer , known for her work with Fairground Attraction and her solo career.
Live and act
Reader was born in Glasgow, the daughter of a welder and the eldest of seven children. She started playing the guitar at the age of ten . At the beginning of her career she sang in the background with the Gang of Four . In 1983 she moved to London and worked for the Eurythmics , The Waterboys and Alison Moyet . In 1984 she met Mark Nevin and Fairground Attraction was founded shortly thereafter. Despite considerable success, the band broke up in 1989.
After a baby break, Eddi Reader released her first solo album in 1992. For her second album, with which she reached number 4 in the British album charts, she received the 1995 Brit Awards as the best British singer. In 2003 she recorded an album with lyrics by the Scottish poet Robert Burns .
In 2006 Eddi Reader was awarded the title MBE . In early 2010 Eddi Reader appeared on the Irish-language album Ceol '10 Súil Siar , where she sang the Irish version of her song Perfect , which is called Foirfe on the Irish album .
