Edward L. House II (born May 14, 1978 in Berkeley , California ), also called Eddie House, is an American basketball player who was last in the service of the Miami Heat in the NBA .

Career

College (1996-2000)

Eddie House had a scholarship to Arizona State University , which he attended for four years. Along with Ike Diogu and James Harden, he is the only Arizona State Sun Devil to be named Pac-10 Player of the Year. He's still the player with the most points, field goals and steals for Arizona State University (2,044). His points average of 23 points per game from the 1999-2000 season is also still the highest ever achieved at Arizona State University. House holds another school record with 61 points in one game.

NBA (since 2000)

House was selected 37th in the 2000 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat where he played for three seasons before signing a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers . After only a year, House was passed on to the Charlotte Bobcats , who passed it on to the Milwaukee Bucks, which in turn passed it on to the Sacramento Kings . In the following NBA season, 2005-2006, the Phoenix Suns took him under contract. With the Suns, House made it to the Western Conference Finals. After that year with the Phoenix Suns, in which he averaged 9.8 points, House signed a one-year contract with the New Jersey Nets on August 13, 2006 , which earned him $ 1.5 million in salary.

On August 7, 2007, he joined the Boston Celtics team. His contract was again for a year and, like last time with the Nets , House received $ 1.5 million in salary. As the back-up guard of Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen , he managed to win the 2008 NBA championship with the Celtics. On July 23, 2008, House extended his contract with the Celtics for an additional two years, this time for a total of $ 5.6 million. On February 18, House was passed on to the New York Knicks along with Bill Walker and JR Giddens in exchange for Nate Robinson and Marcus Landry .

Then, in July 2010, he switched back to the Miami Heat . Eddie House, who began his NBA career in Miami, signed for two years with a salary of $ 1.4 million per season. Among other things, his ex-club Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls were interested in him, but the sniper House (2009-2010 season: 39 percent threesome for 7.6 points) opted for the club, which drafted him in the second round in 2000 had and thanks to the new signing of LeBron James and Chris Bosh was also a favorite for the NBA championship. The Miami Heat made it to the final of the NBA, but were defeated there by the Dallas Mavericks 4-2 in the Best of Seven series. House started the next season with the Miami Heat but was fired on December 24, 2011.
