Edelgard Hansen

Edelgard Hansen (* 1955 in Flensburg ) is a German actress and director.

Life

Edelgard Hansen, who grew up in her native Flensburg, initially trained as a kindergarten teacher . Hansen came to the acting profession through the amateur theater , which the acting director of the Flensburg theater ran and in which she participated during her professional training.

After spending several months in England, she went to Berlin, where she made her first professional experience in theater at the Berlin Mäusetheater, where she learned puppetry , puppet leadership and artistic design . She then completed her acting studies from 1980 to 1984 with a diploma at the University of the Arts (UdK) in Berlin . She received her first engagement at the Freie Volksbühne Berlin .

From 1986 to 1989 she was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Bochum under the management of Frank-Patrick Steckel . From 1989 she worked as a puppet and puppeteer at the Fliegende Theater Berlin, where she also directed several times. For the productions of the Flying Theater, Hansen won the “IKARUS” youth theater award several times together with Rudolf Schmid, the director of the Flying Theater.

In 1989 and 1990 she played the monologue Langusten by Fred Denger in the Herne colliery and in the Kroll Theater in Berlin . From 1996 to 1999 she was engaged with a permanent guest contract at the Stadttheater Konstanz . Numerous guest engagements followed between 1999 and 2011, including a. at the Staatstheater Schwerin , Staatstheater Stuttgart , at the Altonaer Theater , at the Theater der Jugend Wien and regularly at various Berlin theaters ( Sophiensaele , Theater am Kurfürstendamm , Vaganten stage , Theater unterm Dach ).

At the Schauspielhaus Bochum, where she realized two of her own pieces for a young audience, she developed her first own productions. Since then she has worked regularly as a theater director.

In addition to her theater work, Hansen has also increasingly been in front of the camera for film and TV productions since the end of the 2000s. She had supporting roles in television films and series, a. a. in SOKO Leipzig (2012), family Dr. Kleist (2013, as patient Meier) and SOKO Wismar (2014, as caretaker Waltmann). In the short film Cord (director: Tim Garde ) with Hans-Heinrich Hardt as platoon leader Cord in the lead role, which will be released in early 2020 a. a. at the Max Ophüls Preis film festival and the Landshut short film festival , Hansen played the role of therapist Inge.

Hansen also worked as a radio play speaker . She is a member of the Federal Association of Film and Television Actors (BFFS) and lives in Berlin.
