Eden is a city in Concho County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located at the intersection of US Highway 83 with US Highway 87 in the southeast of the county, near the geographic center of Texas.

According to the 2000 census, 2,561 people lived here in 499 households and 333 families. The population density was 406.9 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 90.63% White, 1.52% African American, 0.35% Native American, 0.04% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, and 6.48% other ethnic groups. About 0.82% were mixed race and 51.43% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 499 households, 32.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 51.9% of these were married couples living together. 12.8% were single mothers and 33.1% were non-families. 31.7% of all households were single households and there were people living in 17.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 3.00 people.

12.3% of the population were under 18 years old, 12.7% 18 to 24, 47.4% 25 to 44, 16.6% 45 to 64, and 11.0% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females of all age groups there were 262.2 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 320.6 men.

The median income for a household in the county is $ 28,636 , and the median income for a family is $ 34,750. Males had a median income of $ 17,341 versus $ 20,000 for females. The per capita income was $ 12,119. 15.6% of the population and 8.8% of families are below the poverty line. Of these, 21.8% were children and adolescents under 18 years of age and 16.9% were 65 or older.
