Edgar Giesenberg

Edgar Giesenberg (born February 13, 1851 in Hamburg , † January 14, 1892 in Ilten ) was a German architect .

Life

Giesenberg received his school education and practical construction training in Hamburg. In 1870/71 he studied at the Berlin Building Academy and from 1872 to 1873 at the Art Academy in Vienna . In 1873/74 he traveled to Italy and then worked as a private builder. From 1874 to 1877 he was also employed in Richard Lucae's studio . In April 1877 he became a member of the Berlin Architects' Association . From 1880 to 1886 he worked at Gropius & Schmieden . In January 1882 he joined the Association of Berlin Architects. In 1891 he became a partner at Ende & Böckmann , but had to retire in 1891 for health reasons. He died in the Ilten Sanatorium in 1892.
