Edgar Krank (born April 14, 1967 in Creglingen ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .
Sports career hall
Edgar Krank started playing volleyball in his home country at TV Creglingen . At the age of sixteen he came to the volleyball boarding school in Frankfurt , where he played for four years. During this time Edgar Krank reached third place with the junior national team in 1986 at the Junior European Championship and fourth at the Junior World Championship in 1987. The acceptance and defense specialist then played for the Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen , with whom he became DVV Cup winner in 1988 and German runner-up. He then moved to Munich to join league rivals Türk Gücü , who withdrew from the Bundesliga after just a few months. Edgar Krank then joined VfB Friedrichshafen . With the senior national team he played in 1989 at the European Championships in Sweden . Even after the turn of the millennium, Edgar Krank was still active in the hall. In 2001/02 he played for the second division club FTM Schwabing , 2005/06 for the first division TG Rüsselsheim and since 2006 in the Bayernliga with TSV Eibelstadt .
Sports career beach
Edgar Krank has also played beach volleyball successfully since 1995. He had his first success with partner Oliver Oetke when he won the German masters tournament in 1995 in Frankfurt. In 1996 there were successes in Cologne and Kühlungsborn as well as 3rd place at the German championships . In 1997 Krank / Oetke took part in the first official beach volleyball world championships in Los Angeles , where they finished 17th. Edgar Krank participated in the Grand Slam in Berlin in 2003 with Axel Hager .
Private
Today Edgar Krank is the owner of a curtain shop in Creglingen.
