Edgardo Alejan (born November 22, 1986 ) is a Filipino sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

Edgardo Alejan gained his first international experience in 2011 when he finished sixth in the 800-meter run at the Southeast Asian Games in Palembang in 1: 53.39 minutes . Two years later he reached the semi-finals at the Asian Championships in Pune over 400 meters and was eliminated there with 48.18 s, while he reached fifth place with the Philippine 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 10.86 minutes . He then won the silver medal behind his compatriot Archand Bagsit at the Southeast Asian Games in Naypyidaw in 47.45 s . He also won the season with 3: 09.32 min. In 2014 he took part in the Asian Games in Incheon for the first time and was eliminated from the individual competition with 47.07 s in the semifinals and did not make it to the final with the relay with 3: 11.67 min. The following year he won the bronze medal at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore in 47.08 seconds behind Kunanon Sukkaew from Thailand and Quách Công Lịch from Vietnam and secured the silver medal behind Thailand in 3: 06.84 minutes.

In 2017 he was seventh over 400 meters in 47.68 s at the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur and won the bronze medal behind Thailand and Vietnam in 3: 08.42 min. Two years later he won another bronze medal behind Vietnam and Thailand at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas in his home country in 3: 08.63 minutes and also won the bronze medal in the mixed 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 26.95 minutes.
