Edmund Friedrich Autenrieth
Edmund Friedrich Autenrieth , from 1904 by Autenrieth , (born February 21, 1842 in Tübingen , † December 15, 1910 in Stuttgart ) was a German civil engineer and university professor .
Autenrieth was a son of the physician Hermann Friedrich Autenrieth . From 1857 he studied at the Stuttgart Polytechnic , at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen , the École des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris and the Sorbonne . He then worked as an engineer in railway construction in Württemberg , became an assistant and private lecturer at the Stuttgart Polytechnic in 1866 and, in 1871, a full professor of bridge construction and structural mechanics at the German Technical University of Brno . In 1873 he succeeded Christian Otto Mohr as a full professor for technical mechanics at the Technical University of Stuttgart. He was a senior building officer and building director. In 1907 he retired.
In 1887 he developed a graphical method for calculating the anchor forces in anchored flat foundations. The work was taken over by Emil Mörsch in 1906 for calculation methods in reinforced concrete.
In 1904 he received the Cross of Honor of the Order of the Württemberg Crown and was thus ennobled.
He collected antiques and engravings privately, especially on Württemberg, and had a valuable and well-known collection, which was auctioned in 1911 and 1913.
