Edmund Porges

Edmund Porges (born May 25, 1872 in Vienna ; † March 1, 1917 ibid) was an Austrian journalist , publicist and editor of the first Austrian film magazine . His brother Friedrich Porges also worked as an editor of film magazines.

Life

Porges began his career as a journalist for various daily newspapers in Vienna. In this position he went to Berlin as a correspondent for a few years and turned to film journalism on his return to Vienna. In 1907 he founded the Kinematographische Rundschau , which acted as the official mouthpiece of the Association of Austrian Cinematograph Owners, an association in which he was involved.
