Edmund Sinn

Edmund Sinn (born December 21, 1902 in Aachen ; † March 26, 1978 ibid) was a German lawyer , entrepreneur and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from secondary school in 1921, Sinn initially trained as a textile merchant in Wenden , Osnabrück , Hagen and Saarbrücken . Then he took a degree in law and economics at the universities of Munich , Berlin and Cologne in which he awarded the degree of Dr. jur. finished. As a student, he joined the Catholic student associations of the KV : K.St.V. Rheno-Bavaria Munich , K.St.V. Askania-Burgundia Berlin and Rheinpfalz Cologne. Since 1928, Sinn was the managing director of the textile company Gebr. Sinn GmbH in Aachen. He was also a board member of the retail trade association and chairman of the retail trade committee of the Aachen Chamber of Commerce and Industry .

Sinn was a member of the city council of Aachen from 1952 to 1972 and was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group there from 1957 to 1961. From 1952 to 1961 he was a member of the Rhineland Landscape Assembly . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1961 to 1969. In parliament he represented the constituency of Aachen-Stadt .

Edmund Sinn died on March 26, 1978 and found his final resting place in Westfriedhof II in Aachen.
