Eduard von Günderrode

Johann Eustach Dietrich Eduard Freiherr von Günderrode (born October 10, 1795 in Regensburg ; † April 11, 1876 in Höchst an der Nidder ) was a Hessian officer and member of the 1st and 2nd chambers of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Life

Günderrode was the son of the minister and envoy Philipp Maximilian Freiherr von Günderrode called von Kellner (1745-1814) and his wife Wilhelmine Freiin von Stein zu Nordheim and Ostheim (1767-1857). Günderrode, who was a Protestant denomination, married Eisenmenger (1838–1903) from Reichelsheim (Odenwald), born in Höchst Marie, on October 14, 1873. With the death of his father in 1814 he became ruler of Höchst an der Nidder.

Eduard von Günderrode became a hunting squire and embarked on a military career in the Grand Ducal Hessian Army . In 1815 he became a second lieutenant in the Chevaulegers Guard Regiment . In 1822 he was promoted to Rittmeister à la suite and in 1835 to major à la suite. In 1840 he became adjutant of the Grand Duke's wing with the rank of lieutenant colonel à la suite, rose to lieutenant general by 1864, and in 1866 advanced to adjutant general. In Darmstadt he became a member of the Masonic Lodge Johannes der Evangelist zur Eintracht .

In 1823 he was appointed chamberlain .

From 1832 to 1841 and again from 1846 to 1849 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was chosen for the manorial nobility.

In 1848 he was a member of the Frankfurt pre-parliament . From 1851–1856 he was elected member of the highest taxed landowners in the 1st Chamber of the Landtag of the Grand Duchy of Hesse and from 1856–1872 he was elected member of the manorial nobility in the Landtag of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. He took conservative positions.
