Edward Francis Joseph Schlotterback OSFS (born March 2, 1912 in Philadelphia , † December 9, 1994 in Wilmington ) was Vicar Apostolic of Keetmanshoop .
Life
Edward Francis Joseph Schlotterback joined the Order of the Oblates of St. Francis of Sales and was ordained a priest on December 17, 1938 . Pope Leo XIII. appointed him on March 24, 1956 as Vicar Apostolic of Keetmanshoop and Titular Bishop of Balanea .
The episcopal ordination took place on June 11 of the same year by the Apostolic Delegate in the South African Union Celestine Joseph Damiano ; Co-consecrators were Joseph Mark McShea , auxiliary bishop in Philadelphia and Joseph Howard Hodges , auxiliary bishop in Richmond .
He attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council . On October 2, 1989, John Paul II accepted the resignation he had submitted for reasons of age.
