Edward Stewart

Edward Stewart (before 1971 - August 30, 1999 ) was an American art director and production designer who won an Academy Award for Best Production Design in 1980 .

Life

Stewart began his career as an art director and production designer in the Hollywood film industry in 1971 for the film So Good Friends and was involved in the production of fifteen films until 1982.

In 1979 , along with Tony Walton , Philip Rosenberg and Robert Drumheller, he was nominated for an Oscar for best production design for The Wiz (1978) by Sidney Lumet with Diana Ross , Michael Jackson and Nipsey Russell in the lead roles .

At the 1980 Academy Awards, he and Walton, Rosenberg and Gary J. Brink won the Oscar for best production design in Behind the Spotlight (1979) by Bob Fosse with Roy Scheider , Jessica Lange and Leland Palmer .
