Edward Thomas O'Meara

Edward Thomas O'Meara (born August 3, 1921 in St. Louis , Missouri , USA ; † January 10, 1992 ) was an American clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Indianapolis .

Life

Edward Thomas O'Meara received on 21 December 1946, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 28, 1972, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the titular bishop of Thisiduo and auxiliary bishop in Saint Louis . The Pope personally donated him episcopal ordination on February 13 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Utrecht , Cardinal Bernard Jan Alfrink , and the Archbishop of Armagh , Cardinal William John Conway .

On November 21, 1979, Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Indianapolis .
