Efraim Markovich Sklyansky ( Russian Эфраим Маркович Склянский * 19 . Jul / 31 July 1892 greg. In Fastow , Kiev Governorate , † 27. August 1925 in Long Lake, Hamilton County (New York) ) was in the Russian civil war of 22 October 1918 to March 11, 1924 Deputy of the Soviet Russian Minister of War Trotsky .
Live and act
Ephraim's parents, Jewish petty bourgeoisie, moved to Zhitomir with the boy in 1899 . He graduated from high school with honors and studied medicine at Kiev University from 1911 to 1916 . In 1913 he joined the RSDLP and worked as a propagandist in the Kiev party committee. During the war he served as a soldier from 1916 and practiced as a doctor on the southern Russian front.
After the February Revolution of 1917 , Efraim Skljanski was chairman of the soldiers 'councils on the Northern Front and, at the beginning of November 1917, a deputy at the congress of workers and soldiers' councils in the Petrograd Soviet and in the Bolshevik Presidium . As a member of the MRKP , he sat on the Revolutionary War Council from October 22, 1918 . In 1920 and 1921 he held high party offices in the Bolsheviks. He was a delegate at the 8th, 10th and 12th party congresses of the CPSU in 1919, 1921 and 1923.
Efraim Skljanski's removal from the post of Deputy Minister of War on March 11, 1924, almost two months after Lenin's death , is today understood as a blow by the “Troika” Stalin , Zinoviev and Kamenev against Trotsky.
Efraim Skljanski was deported to the Moscow Economic Council in April 1924 and sent on a business trip to Germany and France in May 1925. In the summer of the same year he worked for the North American Amtorg Trading Corporation and drowned in a motorboat accident in a lake in the USA .
1917 Efraim Sklyansky had in 1897 Daugavpils married born Jew Vera Osipovna Skljanskaja-Waksowa.
Award and honor
- 1923 Order of the Red Banner of the RSFSR .
- Posthumously a factory in the Volgograd region was named after Efraim Skljanski and carried the name until 1938.
- From 1925 to 1938 a Leningrad infantry school was named Efraim Skljansky.
