Egg is a district of the municipality of Bernried in the Lower Bavarian district of Deggendorf . Until 1978 it formed an independent municipality.

Egg is located about five kilometers southeast of Bernried and about as far northwest of the city of Deggendorf .
history
Thiemo de ecce around 1100 is considered the progenitor of the Eckherr (Ecker, Ekker, Eckher). The Eckherr were ministerials to the Counts of Bogen . Georg, the last of the Eckher's straight lines, died in 1403. Egg came to the Frauenberger zum Haag , partly through purchase, partly through relatives . The castle and the associated Hofmark Egg, which was subordinate to the Mitterfels district court , changed hands frequently from then on.
In succession to the rule of the Imperial Court, Count Joseph Ludwig von Armansperg received on August 14, 1821, permission to set up a second class patrimonial court for his Gut Egg , which was responsible for 151 rear passengers. On November 10, 1830 it was merged with the Loham Patrimonial Court .
The municipality of Egg with three villages, two hamlets, seven wastelands and 58 families emerged from the Egg tax district in 1818. In 1964 the districts of the municipality were Berghäuser, Birket, Egg, Fuchsberg, Grubhof, Hammet, Hofstetten, Innenstetten, Luhhof, Medernberg, Rindberg, Schrimpfhof, Sölden, Steinbühl, Sulzbach and Thannberg. Unlike Bernried, which was part of the Bogen district , the municipality of Egg was already part of the Deggendorf district. In the course of the municipal reform , on May 1, 1978, the municipalities of Bernried, Edenstetten and Egg were formed into the single municipality of Bernried with its administrative headquarters in Egg.
