Location of Egglfing am Inn in Bavaria

Egglfing am Inn , officially spelled Egglfing a.Inn , is a district of the municipality of Bad Füssing in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau .

location

The Kirchdorf Egglfing is located in the Pockinger Heide about 1.5 kilometers south of Bad Füssing on the state road 2110. The state road 2117 that branches off from it crosses the Inn about one kilometer southeast and connects Egglfing with the Austrian Obernberg am Inn on the right bank of the Inn .

history

Egglfing is documented as a cathedral estate as early as the 8th century. It developed from a lonely farm, the first owner of which is mentioned as a suitor by the name of Ekiolf. His sons, who inherited the property, were officially designated as Ekiolfincus around 770. With small interruptions, Egglfing remained in the possession of the Passau Monastery for almost 1000 years from the donation in 781 . Since the 13th century it has belonged to the Hofmark Aigen am Inn , which formed the basis of the Riedenburg rule, which was a highly esteemed enclave in the area of the Duchy or Electorate of Bavaria. From their two offices, Aigen and Riedenburg, Egglfing was subordinate to the Office of Riedenburg. Despite many efforts, it was not until the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803 that the Riedenburg rule and with it Egglfings were incorporated into Bavaria.

In Bavaria, Egglfing was an independent municipality that coincided with the Egglfing tax district and had belonged to the newly created Rotthalmünster district court since 1838 . Parts of the community were Holzhäuser, Irching , Pichl, Thalham, Thierham and Wies.

In church terms, Egglfing was a branch of the parish Aigen am Inn. In 1871 the Egglfing branch was built.

As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , on April 1, 1971, the municipality of Egglfing was integrated into the new large municipality of Bad Füssing.
