Irching is a district of the Bad Füssing community in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau .

Lower Inn near Irching

The village Irching in the form of settlement of a road village is located at the south end of the so-called Saurüssels of Rott valley in the Pockinger Heide, an about 340 hectares between the Isar-Inn-hills and the Inn extending gravel plate from sediments of the Inn.

It is located about 2 km southwest of Bad Füssing and 1 km northeast of Aigen am Inn on the PA 59 district road . The district road PA 61 leads from Irching to Kirchham, 3 km away and joins the federal road 12 1 km further in Tutting .  

The Inn is located about 1.7 km in a south-south-east direction, which is part of the Bavarian - Upper Austrian environmental protection area Unterer Inn , a natural area that is now recognized worldwide.

history

In the middle of the summer of 1880, a devastating fire broke out in Irching on August 10th. This event was even reported in the Royal Bavarian Official Gazette of Lower Bavaria. 11 residential buildings and 29 outbuildings, and thus almost a third of Irchings, were reduced to rubble, leaving 80 people homeless. As a consequence, the decision was made to found their own local fire department. On January 22nd, 1881, the Irching volunteer fire brigade association was founded.

In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , Irching was integrated into the new large municipality of Bad Füssing on April 1, 1971 as part of the Egglfing municipality .

Until the end of June 1972 still part of the district of Griesbach im Rottal came to the district of Passau on July 1, 1972 as part of the Irching district reform.
