Eglsee is a district of the market in Ruhstorf an der Rott in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau . Until 1972 it formed an independent municipality.

The scattered settlement Eglsee is about five kilometers northeast of Ruhstorf and about two kilometers northwest of Neuhaus am Inn .
history
Eglsee belonged to the Burgschuster Office of the County of Neuburg . Here, on the southern edge of the county and on the border with the Duchy of Bavaria , several settlements were apparently laid out according to plan. The land register from 1523 describes four properties as being in the Eglsee . With the county, Eglsee came to the Hochstift Passau in 1730 and became Bavarian in 1803 after secularization in Bavaria .
From the chairmanship of Eglsee, the Eglsee tax district was formed in 1811 , from which the Eglsee municipality emerged in 1818. This was assigned to the Passau II district court in 1838. In 1909 the Rotthof and Voglmühle corridors were ceded to the Vornbach community . In 1949 the southern part of the Dobl town hall came to the municipality of Engertsham .
In 1952, the municipality of Eglsee consisted of the villages of Anger, Dobl, Döfreuth, Eglsee, Grünet, Hartlmühl, Höch, Huttenthal, Krottenberg and Steinhügel. As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Eglsee was dissolved with effect from January 1, 1972. The districts of Anger, Eglsee and Krottenberg came to Ruhstorf an der Rott, Döfreuth and Huttenthal to Neuhaus am Inn, Dobl, Grünet, Höch and Steinhügel to the community of Neuburg am Inn .
