Egon Bruderer

Egon Bruderer (born April 10, 1913 in Egnach ; † July 12, 1987 in St. Gallen ; legal resident in Wald AR ) was a Swiss entrepreneur from Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Egon Bruderer was a son of Fergger Johann Jakob Bruderer. In 1940 he married Frieda Schärer, a daughter of the farmer Friedrich Schärer.

Bruderer completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter . In 1943 he took over a mechanical workshop in Egnach . This was relocated to Arbon in 1945 and expanded into a machine factory . In 1958 Egon Bruderer achieved his breakthrough with the production of automatic stamping machines for the metal and watch industry (from 1967 mass balancing technology ). In 1969 the company was relocated to Frasnacht . It has been its own sales organization since 1958. Subsidiaries followed in England (1968), Germany (1970) and the USA (1975), later in India , China , Singapore and Japan . In 1969 the company had 50 employees, in 1972 there were 160, in 1989 the number rose to 700, in 2002 there were 400 employees and in 2020 around 460 worldwide, 370 of them in Frasnacht. Sales remained at 150 million Swiss francs in 1989 and 2002.
