Eibergen ( Low German Eibarge ) is a Dutch village in the Achterhoek in the province of Gelderland .
Eibergen was first mentioned in a document in 1188 and was an independent municipality until it merged with Borculo , Ruurlo and Neede to form today's municipality of Berkelland on January 1, 2005 .
In Eibergen there is a branch of the Federal Armed Forces Administration Office Netherlands. The German-Dutch communications and information systems (CIS) battalion of the 1st German-Dutch Corps is also stationed in Eibergen .
