Eichenau is a part of the community of Großenlüder in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .

The mayor is Norbert Printz (as of November 2016) .

Eichenau is located northwest of Großenlüder. State road 3141 runs through the village .

The place was first mentioned in writing in 953 in a document from King Otto I.

On December 31, 1970, the previously independent place was incorporated into the community of Großenlüder.
