Kleinlüder is a district of the community of Großenlüder in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .

geography

Kleinlüder is located in the west of the Fulda district in the picturesque valley basin of the Lüder , a tributary of the Fulda, on the eastern foothills of the Vogelsberg . To the southwest it borders on Hainzell, a district of the Hosenfeld community . The district town of Fulda is ten kilometers northeast of which the Oberrode district is adjacent to the Kleinlüder district.

Kleinlüder is about 6 km south at the confluence of the Kalten Lüder in the Lüder . The state roads L 3139 and L 3141 meet on the western edge of the town .

Kleinlüder was first mentioned in a document in 953. In a deed of gift from the joint owners Helmot, Gazbot and Waltbrat, it is named together with Grossenlüder. "Clein-Lüder" is mentioned in a document on a map from 1574. The oldest building in Kleinlüder is the parish church's defense tower from the 13th century.

History of religion

As early as 1656, a chapel in honor of John the Baptist, which was built onto the defense tower in an unknown size, is mentioned. The interior of the fortified tower (today's church tower ) was used as a chancel.

In 1840 Kleinlüder was separated from the parish of Großenlüder and assigned to the parish of Blankenau . The new parish church was consecrated in place of the old church after two years of construction by Bishop Joseph Damian Schmitt on Wednesday, May 8, 1912.

The pilgrimage church of Kleinheiligkreuz, first mentioned in a document in 1348, has belonged to Kleinlüder since 1962 .
