The oak mountain in the Harz low mountain range is 416 m above sea level. NN high mountain near Blankenburg in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt .
Geographical location
The Eichenberg is located in the Lower Harz in the Harz / Saxony-Anhalt Nature Park and is densely overgrown with deciduous trees. It rises directly west of the Blankenburg core city.
On the northern slope is the bungalow settlement Am Eichenberg , which was built in the early 1980s. The houses are officially only used as weekend houses. Beyond that, about 800 m away, is the locality of Oesig . Both areas belong to the city of Blankenburg.
About 600 meters southeast of the mountain rises beyond the road 27 of goat head ( 406.1 m above sea level. NN ) with observation tower and mountain inn. The Blankenburg district of Hüttenrode lies around 3 km to the south-west , and to the west of it rises the Staufenberg ( 433.8 m above sea level ) beyond the route of the Rübelandbahn .
Wilhelm-Raabe-Warte
The observation tower Wilhelm-Raabe-Warte stands on the Eichenberg , from which the view falls, among other things, of the city of Blankenburg and the northern Harz foreland.
