Eilert Falch-Lund, who sailed for Kongelig Norsk Seilforening and Bergen Seilforening , just missed a medal win in the 1908 Olympic Games in London with the Fram in fourth place in the 8 meter class. In 1912 he was in Stockholm at the Olympic Games in the 12-meter class, however, Olympic champion . He was a crew member of the Magda IX , which took first place in both races of the regatta and thus won the competition ahead of the only two competitors, the Swedish boat Erna Signe from skipper Nils Persson and the Finnish boat Heatherbell from skipper Ernst Krogius . The crew of the Magda IX also included Alfred Larsen , who was also the owner of the Magda IX , as well as Nils Bertelsen , Arnfinn Heje , Halfdan Hansen , Petter Larsen , Magnus Konow , Christian Staib and Carl Thaulow . Johan Anker was the skipper and designer of the yacht .

Falch-Lund graduated from the Oslo commercial high school and worked in various companies as a businessman. After 1905 he worked in England for a year before he went back to Norway and founded his own company in 1914.
