action

prolog

In a high-rise office building, a company boss ( Robert Shafer ) sexually harasses his employees. This defends itself and pushes the boss through the window.

Cape. 1 - The company

Aspiring advertising man Matt Taylor ( Anthony John Denison ) is happily married and his wife ( Talisa Soto ) is pregnant. The company is reliant on a new order to prevent any looming job cuts. Armand Kristopolous ( Jesse Corti ) has rejected the suggestions of Matt's incompetent work colleague Jay Williams ( Ben Cross ) and is expected to be presented with a new suggestion.

Cape. 2 - Nicole

Looking for an assistant, the attractive and qualified Nicole Landon ( Kathleen Kinmont ) introduces herself . The blonde is the only valid candidate to get the job, even though she could not show a job reference for her last four years of employment.

Cape. 3 - At home

Jay forces his assistant Kyoko ( Lisa Marie Scott ) to work at home in the evening and invites her to his pool.

Cape. 4 - The shoot

The new assistant Nicole is supposed to calm the impulsive photographer Nico Santos ( Quinn Duffy ). She changes the concept of the photo shoot at short notice and would like to have the model Bianca ( Meilani Paul ) photographed alone. Matt is appalled by her idiosyncratic change of concept.

Cape. 5 - disagreement

Matt's boss Irene Grace ( Jennifer O'Neill ) is thrilled with the result of the photo shoot. The CEO Mr. Deacon ( Jon Polito ) also likes the result. Matt is upset that Nicole didn't show him the prints, which had great success, first. Nicole apologizes in order not to "ruin the relationship with Matt".

Cape. 6 - success?

The new concept convinced the customer, and thanks to the resourceful assistant, the company was awarded the lucrative contract with Indigo Jeans. Jay begins to be interested in Nicole and asks his assistant Kyoko to find her personal file. Nicole is now pressuring receptionist Katrina ( Karen Roe ) to get the private phone numbers of all employees.

Cape. 7 - Affair with

Another advertising concept from Jay is thrown out, and he goes in search of the model agent of Matt's successful concept. Matt invites Nicole to dinner to celebrate success. There he wants to split the received bonus fairly between himself and Nicole, but he finds out that he had left the check in the office. Both go back to the office and get closer.

Cape. 8 - Persuasion

Jay invited the model from Matt's campaign, Bianca, to his home. Jay urges Bianca to abandon the campaign in order to harm Matt.

Cape. 9 - The next morning

Matt does not tell his wife that he had given half the bonus to his assistant. He regrets his brief affair and ends it the next morning. Bianca tries, as requested by Jay, to get out of the campaign against the resistance of Nicole.

Cape. 10 - filming commercial

The shooting of the new commercial cannot be carried out as planned because Bianca got a black eye through an "accident". Again Nicole has a saving idea to save the scene.

Cape. 11 - Dinner at Matt's

Nicole befriends Matt's wife, Susan, but Matt isn't thrilled that Nicole interferes in his private life. Nicole suggests that some women would kill to get what Susan has: a successful husband, a neat suburban cottage and soon a baby.

Cape. 12 - Blackmail

Jay follows Nicole and goes to her home. Apparently he knows her past and blackmailed her, among other things, by saying that a job shown at the interview did not come from her.

Cape. 13 - Bianca

While filming by the pool, Nicole casually shows Matt business cards, where he is listed as CEO. The model Bianca approaches Matt, who rejects her.

Cape. 14 - Affair

Nicole ambushes Matt in the hotel again and commits another infidelity.

Cape. 15 - Advice from a friend

Matt goes to his old friend Frankie ( Nick Vallelonga ) to get his opinion on his affair. Frankie advises him not to confess the matter to Susan and recommends that he avoid Nicole before she destroys him.

Cape. 16 - Affair ended

Matt goes to Nicole and ends the affair. She does not see what happened as an affair, but sees herself as his future wife. Matt explains that there is room in his life for a woman, realizes that Nicole needs psychiatric help, and tells her to clear her desk.

Cape. 17 - Nicole takes revenge

In the middle of the night, someone throws a stone into Matt's house. Matt sees Nicole's car spin away. Nicole visits Jay. He invites you to his pool. Nicole kills him because of his bad behavior towards women. She ambushes Susan at home and knocks her off the stool when Susan tries to turn off the fire alarm that Nicole had set off.

Cape. 18 - indictment

At the office, police question the employees and Matt learns that Jay was murdered. He finds out about Nicole's whereabouts; nobody knows where she is. Detectives Ryan ( Brian Hayes Currie ) and Maiolo ( Anthony J. Mangano ) want to know from Matt why a business card of his was found in Jay's house, and it also identifies him as CEO. Nicole testified to the angry CEO, Mr. Deacon, that the business cards were printed on Matt's behalf because Matt, Jay and Irene had planned to merge with another company and oust Mr. Deacon. Matt and Jay would have argued over the future position. In addition, Matt fired Nicole out of jealousy. With Jay's death, Nicole's word is against Matt's. She is hiding because she is afraid that Matt will kill her too. Meanwhile, Matt learns that Susan was hospitalized with a severe head injury and is unconscious.

Cape. 19 - stop

Kyoko visits Matt at the hospital and admits that Jay hired her to comb Nicole's past so he could blackmail her. Matt returns to the office to find the file. He finds newspaper clippings about the advertising agency boss Jack Sherman, who has apparently committed suicide. A newspaper clipping reports on a murder trial against Nicole, in which she was acquitted for self-defense against sexual harassment. When Matt tries to leave the office with the file, Nicole attacks him and knocks him down. In the course of the fight, Matt pushes Nicole into the lower floor, which it does not survive.

Cape. 20 - lied

Back at the hospital, Susan wakes up and relieves her husband. Back home she wants to know from him whether he had an affair with his assistant, which he denies.
