The Denkendorfer Tal railway overpass is a railway bridge under construction on the new Stuttgart – Wendlingen line as part of the Stuttgart 21 project . To the south of the Baden-Württemberg community of Denkendorf, it spans the eponymous valley, the state road 1204, the Erlachgrabenbach and a cycle path parallel to the federal motorway 8 .

The 175 meter long bridge is part of the plan approval section 1.4 of the project. The maximum height above the valley floor is 10.5 meters. The planning approval decision was issued on April 30, 2008. The superstructure, a prestressed concrete slab beam , rests on nine to eleven meter high pillars with a diameter of 1.20 meters, which are arranged in pairs and connected by a head beam. The supports and the two abutments 79 to 19 meters long to piles having a diameter of 1.50 meters established . The superstructure has seven openings and a maximum span of 27 meters.

history

The draft planning of the Denkendorf viaduct and the Sulzbachtal railway overpass were put out to tender in August 2010 in the Official Journal of the European Union .

The construction contract was put out to tender across Europe on July 25, 2013. The construction contract to be awarded should run from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2016. The planning and construction work was awarded to Max Bögl Bauunternehmung GmbH & Co. KG ( Sengenthal ) in April 2014 for a net amount of 6.2 million euros .

In autumn 2014, a farm building on the construction site was demolished, and the actual construction work began in November 2015. In February 2016, the first step was the work on the bored piles.

Completion was originally planned for October 2016.
