The kk privileged railway Pilsen – Priesen (–Komotau) (EPPK) was a railway company founded in Austria-Hungary in 1870 , whose routes were in Bohemia (in today's Czech Republic ). The main connection of the company was the route from the Bavarian border at Markt Eisenstein via Pilsen and Saatz to Dux .

history

On April 21, 1870, the concessionaires Richard Prince Metternich-Winneburg, Anton Edler von Stark, Jaromir Graf Czernin, Johann Graf Lazansky, Dr. Theodor Hassmann and Wilhelm Daniel the right to build and operate a locomotive railway from Pilsen to Priesen (Komotau) in connection with the new lines of the kk priv. Buschtiehrader train , together with branches via Saatz to connect to the kk priv. Aussig-Teplitz train on the one hand Brüx, on the other hand granted to Dux . The Pilsen - Dux line with the branch to Brüx was put into operation in 1872 and 1873. The short connecting line from Schaboglück to Priesen near Komotau , however, only existed for a few years and was closed again in 1879.

To the south the company built a line from Pilsen to Neuern , which was extended on October 20, 1877 to Markt Eisenstein (today: Železná Ruda) on the Bavarian border. On the German side there was a connection to the Plattling - Zwiesel - Eisenstein line (today: Bayerische Waldbahn ) of the Royal Bavarian State Railways , which was opened on November 15, 1877. This was the shortest connection from Munich to Prague on the one hand and to the coal mining areas of northern Bohemia on the other. Another long-distance connection was planned from Mlatz via Karlsbad to Johanngeorgenstadt . Although the concession had been granted since 1872, it was no longer established due to a lack of financial resources.

On January 1, 1884, the company was nationalized. With the exception of the Kaschitz – Schönhof local railway, the lines and vehicles went to the kk Austrian state railways kkStB. In the period that followed, the routes gradually lost their national importance.
