Eisinghausen is located on the northern outskirts of the city of Leer as a residential area on a flat ridge of the Geest along the railway line Leer - Emden , the B70 and the Leer-Nord exit of the A31 and belongs to the Nüttermoor district of the city of Leer .
history
The settlement used to consist of individual houses and was first recorded as Eynrsnahusen in 1439 . Later names were Ayssenhusen , Ayssinghausen (1735) and Eisinghusen (1823). The current spelling has been official since 1824.
Since 1852 the railway connection from Rheine to Emden had been decided as the Hannoversche Westbahn . The route led from empty Coming through Heisfelde to Eisinghausen along further Neermoor . Many men from the surrounding villages found work in the earthworks for the route of the new railway line. Extensive earthworks were necessary for the embankment . Several septic tanks and drainage ditches had to be bridged or diverted. The Papenburg- Emden section was opened in 1854.
Only an old renovated Gulfhof remains from the original settlement . Eisinghausen is now a residential area and the location of one of the two large shopping centers in the city of Leer (East Friesland).
