Ekmel Totrakan (* 1939 in Karşıyaka , Izmir Province ) is a former Turkish vice admiral , who was, among other things, commander in chief of the coast guard ( Turk Sahil Güvenlik Komutanlığı ) between 1990 and 1992 .

Life

Training and employment as a naval officer

Totrakan joined the naval cadet institute ( Deniz Lisesi ) in 1953 and, after visiting, completed an officer training at the naval school ( Deniz Harp Okulu ) between 1958 and 1960 , which he completed in 1960 as a lieutenant at sea ( Asteğmen ). Promotion to Vice Admiral
