Ekmel Totrakan

Ekmel Totrakan (* 1939 in Karşıyaka , Izmir Province ) is a former Turkish vice admiral , who was, among other things, commander in chief of the coast guard ( Turk Sahil Güvenlik Komutanlığı ) between 1990 and 1992 .

Life

Training and employment as a naval officer

Totrakan joined the naval cadet institute ( Deniz Lisesi ) in 1953 and, after visiting, completed an officer training at the naval school ( Deniz Harp Okulu ) between 1958 and 1960 , which he completed in 1960 as a lieutenant at sea ( Asteğmen ). Promotion to Vice Admiral

He held this post until he was replaced by Flotilla Admiral Çetin Ersarı in 1985, after which he himself was in command of the Gölcük naval base between 1985 and 1986 ( Gölcük Ana Üs Komutanlığı ).
