Elena Herzenberg

Elena Herzenberg (born June 24, 1979 in Wachsch ) is a former German high jumper .

Life

Herzberg was born in the Soviet Union and came to the GDR with her parents in 1982. In 1989 she started athletics in Eisenach. In 1997, Herzenberg became German youth champion in the hall. Two years later she took part in the U23 European Championships in Gothenburg , but failed in qualifying. In 2001 in Amsterdam she jumped to fourth place.

In 2001, in the adult sector, Herzenberg became German indoor champion . At the World Indoor Championships in Lisbon , she was thirteenth. In 2002 she came second in the national championships in the hall and took part in the European Indoor Championships in Vienna . In the outdoor season she won the German championship and qualified for the European championships in Munich . In 2003 she was again German indoor champion and took part in the indoor world championships in Birmingham .

Elena Herzenberg started for SV Einheit Eisenach, LG Ohra-Hörsel, ABC Ludwigshafen and MTG Mannheim . After graduating from high school, she studied business administration at the University of Mannheim and the University of Ludwigshafen and graduated in 2008 with a diploma.
