Elena Vystropova (born November 3, 1988 in Astrakhan ) is an Azerbaijani boxer .

Career

Vystropova's first international success was a second place in welterweight (up to 69 kg) at the Ahmet Cömert tournament in Istanbul in 2007. At that time she was still starting for the Russian boxing association. In 2008 she started at the World Championships in Ningbo , but was eliminated in the quarterfinals against future world champion Ariane Fortin , Canada (13: 3).

In 2009 and 2010, Vystropova was unable to assert itself at the national level. In 2011 she took on the Azerbaijani citizenship and started at the European Championships in Rotterdam , where she was eliminated in the round of 16 against future European champion Marichelle de Jong , Holland (12: 9).

At the 2012 World Championships in Qinhuangdao , Vystropova reached after victories over Viktoria Kebikova, Belarus (18: 7), Roselli Feitosa, Brazil (17:12), Luminita Turcin, Romania (RSC 3rd), Liliya Durnyeva, Ukraine (12: 5) , and Anna Laurell, Sweden (16:15), the middleweight final (up to 75 kg), which she lost to Savannah Marshall , England (17:15), and thus won a silver medal. Vystropova qualified for the Olympic Games in London in the same year, where she was eliminated in the first fight against Edith Ogoke, Nigeria (14:12).

In 2014 Vystropova became European Champion in Bucharest . In the final, she beat Stacey Copeland, England , 3-0 judge votes. In the same year she also took part in the World Championships in Jeju-si and won after victories over Stacey Copeland (3: 0), Chen Chia-Chun, Taiwan (3: 0), and Danyelle Wolf, USA (2: 1), and a semi-final defeat against Atheyna Bylon , Panama (2-1), the bronze medal.
