Elendhof (Altmärkische Wische)

Elendhof is a residential area in the Wendemark district of the Altmärkische Wische municipality in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Elendhof, also called Elendshof, a farm in the Wische , is about 1½ kilometers northeast of Wendemark and 2½ kilometers northwest of the town of Werben (Elbe) on the river Tauber Aland in the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve and in the Aland-Elbe-Niederung nature reserve .

history

The courtyard is not labeled on older maps. It is listed as Elendshof on the digital map Top50 from 2003 and in the printed city directories from 2008 and 2013 . The Elendhof, also spelled Elend-Hof, is over 700 years old and was rebuilt in recent years by a family that originally came from Braunschweig, mainly in their own efforts.
