Altmärkische Wische is a municipality in the district of Stendal in Saxony-Anhalt . The community belongs to the Seehausen (Altmark) community .
geography
The districts of the municipality are located south and southeast of the seat of the Verbandsgemeinde in Seehausen (Altmark) in the Altmark in the north of Saxony-Anhalt.
Community structure
The municipality of Altmärkische Wische has four districts with smaller settlements:
- Falkenberg with Biesehof (formerly Groß Biesehof and Klein Biesehof ) and Wipperhof (formerly called Schindelhöfe)
- Lichterfelde with Ferchlipp
- Neukirchen (Altmark) with Schwarzhof
- Wendemark with Burchardshof , Butterhof , Delkerhof , Elendhof , Engelshof , Neu Goldbeck , Parishof , Roggehof , Wiesenhof and Wöllmerstift
history
The municipality of Altmärkische Wische was created on January 1, 2010 through the merger of the formerly independent municipalities of Falkenberg , Lichterfelde , Neukirchen (Altmark) and Wendemark .
In a territorial change agreement, the municipal councils of the municipalities of Falkenberg (January 19, 2009), Lichterfelde (January 19, 2009), Neukirchen (Altmark) (January 9, 2009) and Wendemark (January 16, 2009) decided to dissolve their municipalities and to unite to a new community called Altmärkische Wische . This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.
Origin of the community name
It was named after the landscape of Wische in the north-eastern Altmark.
Religions
The 2011 census in the European Union showed that of the 966 inhabitants of the Altmärkische Wische community, around 24% belonged to the Protestant and around 2% to the Catholic Church.

Municipal council

In the municipal council election on May 26, 2019 , the Altmärkische Wische electoral group was able to achieve 9 seats. One single applicant received a seat. Two of the 10 councilors are women. Parties did not run for election.
coat of arms
The coat of arms and flag were approved by the county on January 30, 2014.
Blazon : “Split by silver and green; in front a gold-armored, half red eagle at the crack with a knocked out red tongue, the muzzle accompanied by a green sea leaf; behind a silver spade, covered with a golden sheaf consisting of four ears of wheat. "
The coat of arms designed by the Hundisburger Thomas Rystau is identical to that of the Seehausen community and shows the march eagle with the talking sea sheet (Seehausen). Spades and sheaves of wheat symbolize agriculture in the community. The four ears of corn stand for the districts and former communities of Falkenberg, Lichterfelde, Neukirchen (Altmark) and Wendemark.
The colors of the church are green - white.
