geography

The Wipperhof is located 5 kilometers southeast of the Hanseatic town of Seehausen (Altmark) in Falkenberg. The oxbow lake of the Tauber Aland river flows around the courtyard in the park from east to south and flows back north into Tauben Aland.

history

The Wipperhof is named after the Wipper family who bought the farm in 1907. Originally the farm was an estate called Schindelhöfe .

Wipperhof was first mentioned in 1343 when Curia dicta Schindelhoue prope Ciuitatem Sehusen awarded Wallstawe Castle as Margrave Ludwig . Other mentions are 1445 the Schindelhof and 1482 vp deme Schindelhafe . In 1804 the noble estate was called Schindelhöfe . In 1864 it is a free property. In 1945 the Schindelhöfe estate was expropriated during the land reform . In 1957, Schindelhöfe was still a place where Falkenberg lived. Possibly after 1990 Schindelhöfe was renamed Wipperhof.

The park at the Wipperhof in Falkenberg is now used for local recreation.
