Ferchlipp is a residential area in the Lichterfelde district of the Altmärkische Wische municipality in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Ferchlipp is a scattered settlement in the Wische between Seehausen (Altmark) and Werben (Elbe) in the north of the Altmark on the river Tauber Aland . It is located 8 kilometers southeast of Seehausen and 8½ kilometers west of Werben.

history

The first documentary mention of Ferchlipp comes from the year 1319. Waldemar , Margrave of the Mark Brandenburg , donated the properties of his court in the curia Aulosen to the Amelungsborn monastery . This included 17 villages, including the village of Verchlippe . Further mentions are 1351 in villa verglibbe , 1443 ferchlibbe , 1460 werchlibbe , 1600 Ferchlip , 1687 Färchlippe , around 1780 Ferglipfelde and in 1804 it is called Dorf und Gut Ferchlipp with a windmill and a jug. The windmill was mentioned as early as 1650. It was at the southern exit of the village.

Origin of the place name

The two roots are of Slavic (Wendish) origin. "Verch" stands for hill and "lipa" for linden tree.

Incorporations

On October 1, 1938, the communities Ferchlipp and Lichterfelde in the district of Osterburg were merged to form a new community of Lichterfelde . The former community of Ferchlipp was listed as a district of Lichterfelde in 1957, but no longer in 1986. Today Ferchlipp is run as a small settlement.
