Neu Goldbeck is a residential area in the Wendemark district of the Altmärkische Wische municipality in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Neu Goldbeck, a farm in the Wische opposite the mouth of the Havel in the Elbe, is about 2½ kilometers northeast of Wendemark and 2 kilometers northwest of the town of Werben (Elbe) near the Wendemarker Wässerung, which begins not far from the western bank of the Elbe. To the southwest are the Elendshof and the Wöllmerstift.

history

The first mention comes from the year 1541 as vff dem hofe before Werben der Sehehoff . The court before Werben was in the repurchase possession of the citizen Krüger to Werben. Further mentions are 1653 Sehehoff zue Wendemarck , 1789 Guth Neu Goldbeck .

The Seehof was divided into two parts. The first part belonged to the von Königsmark before 1541, from 1573–1619 that of the monastery. It went to von Redern in 1619. From 1644 to 1703 it belonged to the mayor of Werben, Lorenz Gleim, who had acquired the part in 1644 from interested parties and creditors from Jagow, Goldbeck and Kalben. In 1672 Johannes Marpurg from Seehausen married the daughter of Lorenz Gleim and moved to the Seehof. Their son Friedrich Wilhelm Marpurg , born on November 21, 1717 at the Seehof, became a well-known music theorist. During his studies at the University of Halle , he met Johann Joachim Winckelmann . He later exchanged letters with him. The first part of the Seehof belonged to the Marpurg family until 1753, was inherited by the son, as it was from the father, went to his mother, née Hupe, later widowed Dölle, was then assigned , in 1753 to her son Gottlieb Christian Dölle and finally in 1776 to the second part of the place, later Neugoldbeck, ceded.

In the second part of Seehof, Rohrlach reports that the Secret Tribunal Councilor Goldbeck , since the renewal of the nobility in 1778 von Goldbeck, had redeemed the knight-free Steils-Land from the Scholwin heirs before Werben in 1776, provided it with farm buildings and named it Neugoldbeck in 1777 . Heinrich Julius von Goldbeck later became Prussian Grand Chancellor and Minister of Justice.

In 1804 the noble estate was called Neu-Goldbeck, formerly Seehof . In 1928 the estate had an agricultural area of 200 hectares and belonged to Bernhard Giesecke.

In 2016, the work of the music theorist Friedrich Wilhelm Marpurg was examined by the Werbener Altstadt working group and the Magdeburg genealogist Wolfgang Brandt. For its 300th birthday in 2019, Marpurg was honored with a symposium in Werben.
