Location of the Seehausen (Altmark) community in the Stendal district | ||
The Seehausen (Altmark) community was established on January 1, 2010 in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt . Since association communities are allowed to have a maximum of eight member communities with at least 1,000 inhabitants each, the following changes were made on the same day:
- Merger of the municipalities of Boock (287 inhabitants), Bretsch (631 inhabitants), Gagel (125 inhabitants), Heiligenfelde (222 inhabitants), Kossebau (260 inhabitants), Losse (120 inhabitants) and Lückstedt (548 inhabitants) to form the municipality of Altmärkische Höhe (2,193 Residents)
- Merger of the municipalities of Falkenberg (265 inhabitants), Lichterfelde (272 inhabitants), Neukirchen (Altmark) (264 inhabitants) and Wendemark (226 inhabitants) to form the municipality of Altmärkische Wische (1,027 inhabitants)
- Merger of the municipalities of Gollensdorf (293 inhabitants) and Groß Garz (732 inhabitants) to form the municipality of Zehrental (1,025 inhabitants)
- Merger of the municipalities of Aulosen (234 inhabitants), Krüden (682 inhabitants), Pollitz (274 inhabitants) and Wanzer (116 inhabitants) to form the new municipality of Aland (1,306 inhabitants)
- Incorporation of the municipalities of Beuster (501 inhabitants), Geestgottberg (382 inhabitants) and Losenrade (157 inhabitants) into the Hanseatic city of Seehausen (Altmark), whose population increases from 4,015 to 5,055
From this point on, the municipalities of Wahrenberg (348 inhabitants) and Schönberg (513 inhabitants) were co-administered, but they were not part of the association municipality. On September 1, 2010 Wahrenberg were incorporated into Aland and Schönberg after Seehausen (Altmark).
The indicated population figures relate to December 31, 2008.

The Verbandsgemeinde is located southwest of the Elbe in the Altmark and Wische .

- Altmark Wische with Biesehof , Burchardshof , Butterhof , Delkerhof , Elendhof , Engelshof , Falkenberg , Ferchlipp , Lichterfelde , Neu Goldbeck , Neukirchen (Altmark) , Parishof , Roggehof , Schwarzhof , Wendemark , Wiesenhof , Wipperhof and Wöllmerstift

In the municipal elections on May 26, 2019, the CDU won eight of the 20 seats in the municipal council, making it the strongest parliamentary group. The UWG BGLS (Independent Voting Association Beuster-Geesgottberg-Losenrade-Schönberg) had four seats, Die Linke , FWA (Free Voting Association Aland) and the Altmärkische Wische electoral group two seats each . The UWG Seehausen and the WG Zehrental were each able to secure a seat. Three councilors are women. Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and FWG Höhe (Free Voting Community Altmärkische Höhe) missed their entry into the municipal council. The SPD and FDP did not stand for election.

The coat of arms was approved by the district on November 28, 2011.
Blazon : “Split by silver and green; in front a gold-armored, half red eagle at the crack with a knocked out red tongue, the muzzle accompanied by a green sea leaf; at the back between two silver wavy bars five split golden diamonds arranged in a star shape. "
The colors of the association are red and white.
The coat of arms was designed by Thomas Rystau from Hundisburg.

The flag is red and white (1: 1) striped (landscape format: stripes running horizontally, lengthways format: stripes running vertically) and centered with the municipal coat of arms.
traffic
The Magdeburg – Stendal – Wittenberge railway , where the Geestgottberg and Seehausen (Altm) stops are located, runs across the territory of the Verbandsgemeinde . These are served by the S-Bahn Mittelelbe every hour.
The federal roads 189 and 190 run through the association .
