history

The Lindhof large stone grave, which was destroyed in the 19th century, testifies to the early settlement of the area around Drüsedau .

Originally Drüsedau was a church village and a manor suitable for the Landtag . To the south of the village is Lindhof , a former Vorwerk. East of Drüsedau in the forest was a brick factory . Both belonged to the Drüsedau estate.

Drüsedau was first mentioned in 1170 as Drusdow . 1174 the place is called Druzdowe . Further mentions are 1179 villam drozdowe , 1443 wüsten dorffstete zu Drüssdow , 1518 Dröstede , 1598 Droßde , 1621 Drußde , 1737 Drüßdow , 1794 Druseda .

In 1760 Karl Friedrich Pauli reported on quite questionable assumptions Drusedow could be traced back to the Roman general Drusus .

Drüsedau was the ancestral seat of the extinct family von Drusedow (Drüsedau), a noble family from the Altmark.

Origin of the place name

Drozdowe is an old Slavic place name. The first syllable "drosd" indicates throttle, the second "owe" indicates village.

Incorporations

On September 30, 1928, the Drüsedau manor district was merged with the Drüsedau rural community. On July 25, 1952 Drüsedau came from the district Osterburg for county Seehausen . On July 2, 1965, the Drüsedau community was reclassified to the Osterburg district . On February 1, 1972, the municipality of Drüsedau was finally dissolved and incorporated into the municipality of Bretsch .

Through the merger of several communities on January 1, 2010, the district Drüsedau came to the community Altmärkische Höhe .
