Location in Saxony-Anhalt

Einwinkel is a district of the municipality Altmärkische Höhe in the district of Stendal in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark village of Einwinkel, a street village with a church, is 12 kilometers west of Osterburg and 2½ kilometers northeast of Boock am Halmaygraben, which flows east into the Biese .

The Neue Welt residential area is 500 meters north of the village.

history

Einwinkel was first mentioned in 1238 as Niwinkel iuxta Gladowe as Count Siegfried von Osterburg villages and possessions in the Altmark, with which he had previously been enfeoffed from St. Ludgerikloster Helmstedt , to Abbot Gerhard von Werden and Helmstedt . Originally, Count Siegfried von Osterburg was enfeoffed by the St. Ludgerikloster Helmstedt .

The next mentions are from the year 1252 as in villa nyenwinkele , when Margrave Otto left an uplift from the village to the Arendsee monastery and in 1457 jn the Neynwinkel. The historian Peter P. Rohrlach points out that some authors made the entry from 1252 with the desert Confused Feldmark Neuwinkel (east of Stendal). The uplift in question from 1252 was still active when it was confirmed in 1457, so it concerned Einwinkel, Neuwinkel had been desolate for about 130 years. In 1687 the village was called Einwinckell .

Einwinkel manor

The former Einwinkel manor is in the north of the village, in front of it a meadow and the manor park with oaks extends to the west.

In 1823 the estate was surrounded by a rectangular moat with a side length of 60 to 70 meters. It has been preserved on the northwest corner as Halmaygraben (Zehrengraben) in a rectangular shape.

The mentions of the name Einwinkel from 1361 to 1516 do not clearly indicate whether the bearers of the name lived in the village of Einwinkel. So it is difficult to say who the first known knight was. From 1542 to 1613 the von Einwinkel had their seat in Einwinkel.

In 1879 George Adalbert von Mülverstedt wrote : The coat of arms of the Knights of Einwinkel shows "a half jumping wolf over a star" and is located as a seal on a document by Buss v. Einwinkel from 1601. Others describe a "wolf that leaps over a stone". The last knight was Günzel von Einwinkel, who was named in 1620. He died impoverished in the Thirty Years War.

In 1620 Jürgen von Restorff took over the estate. Until the property was expropriated and divided, it changed hands frequently. In 1910 Gustav Nieber bought the estate from the chief bailiff Rudolph Hemprich. During his “reign” the estate experienced an upswing. At his suggestion, the school was built in 1924, and all residents participated in its construction. Since the arable land could not be worked by in-house staff during the cultivation and harvest time, migrant workers came from the area as well as from Magdeburg, Berlin, Poland and Russia. These harvest workers lived in the so-called Schnitterkaserne on the road to Wohlenberg, the only building in the New World .

During the land reform in 1945 it was established: one property over 100 hectares with 253 hectares, 9 properties under 100 hectares with a total of 104 hectares, two properties of the church have a total of 2.7 hectares. The manor was expropriated. In 1946, 4.49 hectares were assigned to the district retirement home, which was temporarily housed in the manor house. In 1948 it was reported: 23 full settlers received each over 5 hectares from the land reform, 5 small settlers each received less than 5 hectares.

In the first few years the machines on the estate were shared. After the old people's home was closed, the manor house became municipal property. A machine rental station (MTS) was set up on the estate . In 1953 the first type III agricultural production cooperative, the LPG "Unity", was established.

Incorporations

On September 30, 1928, the manor district Einwinkel was united with the rural community Einwinkel. On July 1, 1950, the community from the single angle was district Osterburg by Boock incorporated. When Boock and other communities merged to form the new Altmärkische Höhe community on January 1, 2010, Einwinkel became part of the new community.
