Location in Saxony-Anhalt

Wohlenberg is a part of the municipality Altmärkische Höhe in the district of Stendal in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Wohlenberg, a street village with a church, lies between the Altmark towns of Osterburg and Arendsee , which are between 9 and 10 kilometers away, on two small ditches that flow into the Zehrengraben east of the village.

history

Adolph Friedrich Riedel lists 1243 in a commemorative publication in 1831 as the year Wohlenberg was first mentioned as Woldenberg : The witness Friedrich von Woldenberg was named in a document in Pomerania in 1243.

The village is referred to in a copy of a feudal letter from 1363 from the 16th century as Woldenberge . In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 the village is listed as Woldeberghe and Woldenberghe . It comprised 14 hooves , 6 of which were desolate, i.e. uninhabited. The chronicler Christoph Entzelt called the village Woldenberge , Wollenberge in 1579 and wrote mons waldemari in Latin about it . Further mentions are 1608 Woldenbergk , 1687 Woldenberge and finally 1804 Wohlenberg .

The land reform in 1945 recorded: 17 properties under 100 hectares had a total of 264 hectares of agricultural land, two church properties had a total of 21 hectares, and a parish had 0.2 hectares. In 1948 it was reported: 6 full settlers each over 5 hectares and 11 small settlers each under 5 hectares received from the land reform. It has not yet been possible to determine when the first agricultural production cooperative was established in the village. In 1960 the LPG type I "Holstein breed" already existed, which in 1974 was connected to LPG "Altmark" Bretsch. In 1986 the LPG "Altmark" Bretsch, based in Lückstedt, had a Wohlenberg brigade .

Incorporations

On 25 July 1952, the municipality of Wohlenberg was from the district Osterburg in the district Osterburg reclassified. On April 1, 1974, it was dissolved and incorporated into the community of Lückstedt.

With the merger of Lückstedt and other municipalities on January 1, 2010 to form the new municipality of Altmärkische Höhe , the district of Wohlenberg became today's municipality.
