Location in Saxony-Anhalt

Lückstedt is a district of the Altmärkische Höhe community in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Lückstedt, a street village with a church, is located in the northern Altmark between the towns of Osterburg (Altmark) , Seehausen (Altmark) and Arendsee (Altmark) , which are between 13 and 15 kilometers away.

history

In 1338 a Petro Lucstede was mentioned in Salzwedel.

Lückstedt was first mentioned in 1350 as villa Lucstede . In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 the village is listed as Luͤkstede . Of the 12 hooves , 6 were desolate . Further mentions are 1600 Lückstedte and 1687 Lückstede .

At the eastern end of the village in the direction of Dewitz there was a windmill, which was mentioned as early as 1745. A little further outside was the Lückstedt-Dewitz stop on the Stendal – Arendsee railway line .

Origin of the place name

The first syllable of the name is interpreted as a proper name "Luka" or as a plant name.

school

As early as 1842 there was a school house with a teacher in the village. The school was single-class until 1945, then two-class until 1950. Later multi-class with the inclusion of neighboring towns. In 1953/54 four new classrooms were built. In 1983/84 a new building was added, so that almost all students could be taught up to the 10th grade. The secondary school Lückstedt was closed in 2005.

Agriculture

During the land reform in 1945, 48 properties under 100 hectares were recorded with a total of 404 hectares. Two church properties had a total of 2 hectares and a parish had 2 hectares of agricultural land. It was not until 1960 that the first Type I agricultural production cooperative, the LPG “Klein Berlin”, came into being. It was connected to LPG in 1974 on LPG Type III "Altmark" in Bretsch. This cooperative was later transferred to the large-scale operations LPG plant production "Progress" and LPG animal production "Altmärkische Höhe". The companies were closed after 1990. Today the land is managed by the Lückstedt agricultural cooperative.

Incorporations

On 25 July 1952, the municipality Lückstedt was from the district Osterburg in the district Osterburg reclassified. On April 1, 1974, the communities of Stapel and Wohlenberg were dissolved from the same district and incorporated into the community of Lückstedt. On July 1, 1994, the municipality of Lückstedt became part of today's Stendal district .

Until December 31, 2009, Lückstedt was an independent municipality with the districts of Stapel and Wohlenberg and belonged to the now dissolved administrative community Seehausen (Altmark) , which had its seat in Lückstedt from 1992 to 2004.

The municipal councils of the communities Boock (on May 20, 2009), Bretsch (on June 30, 2009), Gagel (on January 12, 2009), Heiligenfelde (on January 21, 2009), Kossebau (on June 16, 2009) 2009), Losse (on January 23, 2009) and Lückstedt (on January 12, 2009) decided that their communities should be dissolved and merged into a new community with the name Altmärkische Höhe. This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.

Thus, on January 1, 2010, the districts of Lückstedt, Stapel and Wohlenberg became part of the new Altmärkische Höhe community .
