Waldesfrieden is a residential area in the town of Seehausen (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Waldesfrieden settlement is located in the south-west of the town of Seehausen in the nature reserve "Eastern edge of the Arendsee plateau". It is surrounded by the Seehausen municipal forest.

A neighboring town in the southwest is Baarsberge .

history

There was a stud farm in the immediate vicinity of the city. An owner is said to have given the name to this area in the direction of Barsberge.

In 1920 a horse race took place on the racetrack near Waldesfrieden.

The district-run, state- owned company "VEB (K) Bau" was founded in 1954 and consisted of various trades. The company's headquarters were in Waldesfrieden. The construction company was closed after 1990 and the former company buildings were partially demolished. The area was released for residential development. After 1990 a hardware store was opened, but it was closed again. Later a furniture company was established.
