Gottberg (Seehausen)

Gottberg is a residential area in the Geestgottberg district of the Hanseatic town of Seehausen (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .

The estate is located a little south of the row village Geestgottberg, 5½ kilometers south of Wittenberge between the rivers Elbe and Aland in the far north of the Altmark .

Neighboring towns are Braves Land , Marsche and Wittenberge in the north, Eickhof and Hohe Geest in the east.

history

In 1246 a Bolde de Gotberge in Wittenberge was named as a witness. Gottberg was first mentioned in 1305 as the village of Gotberg . Gottberg could be named after a family of the same name or vice versa.

In 1608 there was a farm at Gottberg in Beritt Seehausen . In 1745 it was a noble knight's seat . 1801 6 Büdner and a fisherman lived in the noble Gottberg estate . The estate belonged to Geestgottberg. In 1820 it is described as being connected to the south of the village of Geestgottberg. Later it is called manor. However, the estate was never an independent estate district .

During the land reform in 1945, the Gottberg manor was expropriated.

The Protestant Christians from Gottberg belonged to the parish Eickerhöfe , which formerly belonged to the parish of Wahrenberg. Today they are the parish association Beuster-Aland in the parish area Beuster the church district Stendal in Propst Sprengel Stendal Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany serves.
