Schüring

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Schüring is a residential area in the Schönberg district of the Hanseatic city of Seehausen (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Schüring is a small individual farm, 1½ kilometers northeast of Klein Holzhausen, 5 kilometers northeast of Salzwedel am Elbdeich in the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve . The Herzfelder Haken, an old Elbarm in the nature reserve Aland-Elbe-Niederung and in the EU bird sanctuary Aland-Elbe-Niederung, extends to the northeast . The Herzfelder Haken could also have been created by removing soil for building the dike, as in earlier times the soil required for building the dyke was probably originally taken from the immediate vicinity of the dike. The Elbe dike watering, formerly known as the Great Watering, flows in the southeast.

Neighboring towns are Oberkamps in the northwest, Perditzenberg and Schönberg am Deich in the southeast and Klein Holzhausen in the southwest.

history

In 1209, the village of Scuringe , which belongs to the Havelberg monastery, was granted the right to a quarter. The historian Lieselott Enders writes to a possible Wüstung Schuring (Scuringe) : "If [a] so far unused, continuity consisted of a courtyard, at the most is partially deserted or shrinkage of a once larger settlement before."

The historian Peter P. Rohrlach assumes that today's farm emerged as an establishment on the desolate field of the village. The confession of a woman in the Seehausen city court is handed down from 1633 that 19 or 20 years ago the farmer Drewes Nachtegall, who lived on the Schüring, poisoned a horse. 1685 Joachim Wille is mentioned on the Schüring.

On the Urmesstischblatt of 1843 can be found on the Messtischblatt of 1873 it is said to Seehauser Kamp properly , in 1902 the place is with Schüring labeled. Deviating from this, Danneil described the location of the place as follows in 1863: "At some distance from Schönberg am Damme, in the direction of Neukirchen, there is a single farm that now belongs to Schönberg and is called 'Hof Schüring'." there are 2 houses in 1909, only one house in town.
